Description
A digitally restored painting of a train from the Baltimore and Ohio company at the top of the almost 3000 foot high grade to get over the Appalachian Mountains near Rowlesburg in West Virginia. This 1878 painting shows the Cheat River in the valley and has been restored from the original file held by the Library of Congress. This version includes the natural edges of the canvas. I have a separate image on the site that is cropped to exclude that.
